About Fairfield

"We believe our school is a special place and hope everyone here enjoys their time with us. We hope that you and your family find Fairfield to be a welcoming and friendly environment and one in which your child will feel safe, secure and valued. We believe that children learn best when staff and parents work together in close partnership and so we value your involvement with your child's education."

Richard Ware, Headteacher

Fairfield is one of the Kirklees Local Education Authority schools for pupils with special needs. It serves the northern district, admitting pupils between the ages of 3 and 19, all with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties. The school has achieved Artsmark Gold, the Eco School Award, Football Association Charter mark, and the Quality Standard for Careers Advice and Guidance. In September 2006 it moved to a new £7million, purpose built PFI site and can now accommodate up to 107 pupils.
